Almora.
A delegation met District Magistrate Anshul Singh on Wednesday to raise various public issues related to the Jageshwar Assembly constituency. The delegation, led by former State Minister of BJP Yuva Morcha Deepak Pandey, drew the administration’s attention primarily towards the problems faced by residents of Lamgara and Dol mandals.
During the meeting, the delegation highlighted the poor condition of the Vamanswal–Gurudabanz motor road in the Lamgara area. They stated that due to the lack of proper blacktopping, the road has deteriorated significantly, causing serious inconvenience to local villagers, students, patients, and daily commuters. The situation becomes particularly difficult during the monsoon season, when damaged stretches and potholes hinder smooth movement. The delegation demanded that the road be taken up for blacktopping at the earliest and accorded priority under development works.
Another important issue raised was the damaged building of the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society (PACS) at Chaykhan. The delegation informed the District Magistrate that the building is in a dilapidated condition, making it unsafe and difficult for the cooperative to function smoothly. They urged the administration to take immediate steps for its repair, warning that any delay could lead to accidents and further disruption of services for farmers and members associated with the society.
The delegation also brought to notice the losses caused by recent natural disasters in several villages of Lamgara and Dol mandals. Due to heavy rains and other calamities, many pedestrian paths have been damaged, creating problems for villagers, especially the elderly, women, and schoolchildren. In addition, drinking water schemes and other public assets have also suffered damage. The delegation demanded that repair and restoration work be carried out promptly and that the necessary budget be released to address these issues effectively.
A memorandum listing all the demands and problems was formally submitted to the District Magistrate. District Magistrate Anshul Singh patiently heard the delegation and assured them that all genuine public issues would be examined seriously. He stated that concerned departments would be instructed to take appropriate action and that public interest matters would be handled with sensitivity and priority.
On the occasion, Lamgara Mandal President Harish Sijwali, Dol Mandal President Dinesh Pandey, along with other party workers and local representatives, were present.
