Almora. The Victoria Premier League-2025, underway at Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Sports Stadium, Almora, witnessed a thrilling Friday. In the first qualifier, Team Victoria defeated Almora Challengers by 8 wickets to reach the final. Meanwhile, in the eliminator, Shiv Shakti scripted history with a record-breaking 6-wicket win against Gurudabaj Lions.
Qualifier-1: Victoria’s Dominant Victory
In the first match, Victoria won the toss and opted to field. Batting first, Almora Challengers scored 181 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Victoria chased down the target in just 15.4 overs, scoring 183 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. Jatin Virk was declared Man of the Match for his all-round brilliance—taking 4 wickets for 17 runs in 4 overs and smashing an unbeaten 88 runs off 37 balls.
Eliminator: Shiv Shakti’s Record-Breaking Performance
In the second encounter, Shiv Shakti won the toss and chose to field. Gurudabaj Lions set a massive target, scoring 267 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Chasing the total, Shiv Shakti pulled off a sensational win, reaching 269 runs in just 18.2 overs with 4 wickets down. Pradeep Karki was named Man of the Match for his all-round show—picking 1 wicket for 41 runs in 4 overs and hammering an unbeaten 94 runs off 44 balls.
