Almora. The continuous presence of a tiger in Doobkiya Ward for the past four days has created an atmosphere of fear among local residents. The tiger has been spotted roaming in several parts of the ward and even preyed on a stray dog, which has further deepened the panic among the people.
Taking the situation seriously, Ward Councilor Anju Bisht conducted a patrol along with the Forest Department team. Forester S.S. Negi, Forest Beat Officer Vivek Tiwari, Manoj Joshi, and local representative Rakesh Bisht were also present during the inspection. Councilor Anju Bisht stated that residents have been living in fear for the past few days, and after dark, people find it difficult to step out of their homes. She urged the Forest Department to take immediate action to ensure public safety.
Locals have demanded increased security in and around the ward, along with special night surveillance. Residents expressed concern that children and the elderly are at greater risk, and the administration must take effective measures without delay.
Due to the tiger’s presence, normal life in Doobkiya Ward has been severely disrupted. Meanwhile, the Forest Department informed that a cage will soon be installed to capture the tiger.
The presence of the tiger in Doobkiya Ward has not only highlighted the challenges of wildlife conservation but has also emerged as a serious safety issue for the town area. At present, the Forest Department and local representatives are working together to ensure the safety of the region.
