
Almora. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Almora unit, organized a press conference and announced Deepak Lohani as its candidate for the post of student union president for the academic session 2025–26.
Deepak Lohani has been actively involved in student politics and campus activities for a long time. Last year, during the movement demanding student union elections, he suffered severe burn injuries after coming into contact with fire. He had to undergo months of treatment in the hospital. The entire student community expressed deep sympathy and support for him during that difficult period.
Recognizing his dedication, sacrifice, and popularity among students, ABVP has chosen him as its presidential candidate. The announcement has sparked a wave of happiness across the student community.
District convenor Rahul Kanwal said that ABVP would register a massive victory in the upcoming elections. Student federation president Varun Kapkoti added that the organization is moving toward creating new history on campus.
