Almora – A meeting of the All India Kshatriya Welfare Organization was held at a local hotel, during which a new executive committee was unanimously formed. The meeting was chaired by election officer Pooran Singh Eri. Jaman Singh Devdi was elected as President, Hayat Singh Gaida as Vice President, Lakshman Singh Bora as General Secretary, Hayat Singh Bisht as Joint Secretary, Ram Singh Bisht as Treasurer, and Ashok Singh as Publicity Minister. Former ranger Jaswant Singh and Roop Singh Bisht were appointed as auditors.
The advisory panel now includes Dr. S.S. Pathani, Anand Singh Satwal, Pooran Singh Eri, and M.S. Negi. The meeting expressed deep appreciation for the bravery and sacrifice of Indian soldiers during the India-Pakistan war.
The organization urged the Almora Municipal Corporation to take immediate action against the increasing number of stray cattle and monkey menace in the city, which pose a risk to public safety. A renewed request was also made to the Government of India to implement reservation based on economic criteria.
Considering the geographical conditions of Uttarakhand, the organization demanded that the maximum width of roads constructed in the state be limited to 18 meters, with proper footpaths on both sides. It also appealed for the prompt completion of all pending road works.
Several prominent members of the organization were present at the meeting, including Gajendra Singh Rawat, Madan Singh Bisht, Diwan Singh, Manohar Singh Negi, Jasot Singh Bisht, and many other officials.
