
Almora. To make the Nanda Devi Fair 2025 grand and historic, the administration and fair committee have taken important decisions regarding the arrangements. This year, the fair will host cultural programs and commercial establishments at the Adams Girls’ Inter College ground in Almora.
A meeting was held between Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sanjay Kumar, Education Officer Harish Rautela, Fair Committee President Manoj Verma, the management and principal of Adams Inter College, and members of the temple committee. It was mutually agreed that the fair’s programs would not cause any disruption to the academic activities of the students.
Fair President Manoj Verma stated that the Nanda Devi Fair is not only a symbol of faith but also a cultural heritage. He emphasized that all departments of the town are working together to give the fair a more magnificent form this year. The layout of the stalls and cultural stages in the college ground has already been finalized.
The inspection was attended by Secretary Manoj Sanwal, Vice President Tara Chand Joshi, Manager Anoop Sah, Fair Convener and Councilor Amit Sah Monu, Councilor Arjun Bisht, Councilor Kuldeep Mer, Councilor Abhishek Joshi, Panchayat Member Kapil Malhotra, Harish Bhandari, Trilochan Joshi, Dinesh Mathpal, Munna Verma, Rajendra Bisht, Hitesh Verma, Manoj Bhandari (Mantu), and other fair committee members.

From the administration side, officials including Krishna Kumar and Vimal Tamta from the police department, Basant Ballabh Pandey and Rajpal from the municipal corporation, Agarwal from the electricity department, and Umang Sharma from the water institute joined the joint inspection of the Adams Girls’ Inter College ground and reviewed the arrangements.
During the visit, discussions were also held on traffic management, security arrangements, and organizing the Dole procession in the town market area, particularly focusing on streamlining electric and communication wires. The committee decided that all departments must complete their preparations in advance to ensure that devotees and traders do not face any inconvenience during the fair.
Members of the temple committee and councilors also shared several suggestions to ensure smooth and well-organized management of the fair. The committee highlighted the importance of women’s participation, and in this regard, a special meeting of women has been convened at the Nanda Devi temple premises on Agast 20, where various arrangements related to the fair will be discussed.
The townspeople and devotees are showing great enthusiasm for the upcoming fair. Both the administration and the fair committee have assured that this year’s event will showcase Almora’s rich tradition and culture in a more grand and vibrant manner.
