
Almora: On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the Women’s Welfare Association organized a special program to honor the soldiers guarding the nation. Members of the association tied rakhi to the brave soldiers and officers of the 19 Sikh Battalion, including Major Rahul Tiwari and Captain Anshul, expressing their affection and gratitude.
Welcoming everyone, Association President Rita Durgapal said, “Our country is safe today because of courageous soldiers like you. Your sacrifice and dedication hold the highest place in the service of the nation. We wish you a bright future, and today, while tying rakhi to you, we feel deeply honored. It is our privilege to have this opportunity to tie rakhi to our brave warriors.”
The program was conducted by the association’s patron, Neta Upadhyay, who said that Raksha Bandhan is a festival celebrating the bond between brothers and sisters, and when this bond is shared with the protectors of the nation, its significance becomes even greater.
Those present at the event included Association Secretary Pushpa Sati, Vice President Chandra Agarwal, Mamta Chauhan, Aditya Agarwal Pandey, Geeta Shah, Asha Karnataka, Rekha Chauhan, Anuradha Agarwal, Deepa, Satish Joshi, Manju Joshi, Preeti Shah, Indira Ghangharia, Mamta Kapoor, Bimla Tiwari, Heera Kanwal, Mamta Mishra, Beena Tiwari, Meena Pandey, Chandra Agarwal, and Amita, among many others.
The soldiers expressed their heartfelt thanks to all the women of the association, stating that such gestures of love and support greatly boost their morale. The unique Raksha Bandhan celebration created an emotional atmosphere, where sisters tied sacred threads on the wrists of the brothers who protect the nation.
