
Almora: After being appointed as the State Minister of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Gaurav Pandey visited his hometown Almora for the first time, where party workers gave him a warm and grand welcome. The city streets were adorned with floral garlands, and ceremonial welcome arches were set up at various locations.
During the organized welcome ceremony, Gaurav Pandey said that the responsibility entrusted to him by the party leadership is significant, and he will carry it out with full dedication and commitment. He emphasized that with very little time left before the 2027 Assembly elections, the focus would be on strengthening the party at the booth level. Pandey confidently stated that BJP would form the government in Uttarakhand for the third consecutive time in 2027 and that all Assembly seats in Almora district would be secured by the party.
When asked about contesting from the Jageshwar Assembly constituency, he neither confirmed nor denied his candidature but assured that he would work diligently wherever the party assigned him responsibility.
District President Mahesh Nayal, in his presidential address, said that it is a matter of pride for Almora that Gaurav Pandey has been given such an important position in the state organization. Under his guidance, workers are expected to achieve historic victory in the 2027 elections.
Speaking at the event, Gaurav Pandey said, “I am deeply grateful for the warmth and enthusiasm with which all of you have welcomed me. I will continue to work tirelessly for the development of the region and strengthening of the party. Together, we will ensure BJP’s resounding victory with a strong majority.”
Former MLA Kailash Sharma remarked that Gaurav Pandey’s leadership will bring new energy among the youth and elevate the organization to new heights. Former Deputy Speaker Raghunath Singh Chauhan added that his inclusion in the state team will bring more developmental and organizational benefits to the district.
The ceremony was attended by prominent leaders and senior party workers, including former MLA and Deputy Speaker Raghunath Singh Chauhan, former MLA Kailash Sharma, Mayor Ajay Verma, Daitva Dhari Ganga Bisht, Block Head Trilok Rawat, City Mandal President Vineet Bisht, former District President Lalit Latwal, Ravi Routela, former Daitva Dhari Govind Pilkhwal, Bittu Karnataka, and many other senior workers and office-bearers.
Representatives from the Women’s Wing, Youth Wing, Trade Council, and various other mandals actively participated in the event. The program was jointly conducted by District General Secretary Prakash Bhatt and Darshan Rawat.
The grand welcome event infused the political atmosphere of Almora with enthusiasm and vigor, and the workers pledged to ensure BJP’s victory in all Assembly seats in the district in the 2027 elections.
