The 139th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna, freedom fighter, and the first Home Minister of India, Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and reverence in the town area. On this occasion, students from various government and non-government schools of the region showcased their talents at the cultural program organized at Ramsay Inter College, Almora.
The program began with floral tributes to Pt. Pant, recalling his immense contributions to the nation. Thereafter, students presented patriotic songs, group performances, instrumental music, and dance, captivating the audience with their vibrant displays.
In the dance competition, students of PM Shri Government Inter College, Almora delivered an outstanding performance and secured the first position. Participants – Sagar Adhikari, Rajkumar, Jagdish Kumar, Harshit Pandey, Lalit, Gayatri Tiwari, Babita Joshi, Kavya Arya, Sonakshi, Mahima Dhela, Sapna, and Bhagwati – impressed both the judges and spectators with their teamwork and energetic presentation, winning the champion’s trophy for their school.
Honoring the winners, the Principal of the institution, Rajesh Bisht, described this achievement as a matter of pride for both the students and the school community. He praised the dedicated guidance of music teacher Lalit Prasad and applauded the hard work of the students, wishing them success in their future endeavors.
Following the competition, a felicitation ceremony was held where the victorious students were warmly welcomed with bouquets and resounding applause. Among those present were Dr. Prerna Gururani, Dr. Govind Singh Rawat, Deepak Pandey, Dr. Lalit Jalal, Raina Adhikari, and Madan Singh Bhandari, along with other teachers and staff, all of whom congratulated the winners and expressed their happiness at the school’s achievement.
Speakers on the occasion highlighted that the birth anniversary of Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant is not merely a formal celebration, but a true opportunity to draw inspiration from his ideals. His life of struggle and sacrifice, they said, continues to motivate the younger generation to contribute to nation-building.
