Almora – Concerned about the growing fear among residents due to the continuous presence of a tiger in the Bhyrakhola area, Almora Municipal Councilor Anoop Bharti has stepped forward to address the issue. Bharti has formally written a letter to the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Almora, urging immediate action to provide relief to the terrified local population.
For the past several days, the residents of Bhyrakhola have been living under constant threat due to repeated sightings of a tiger near residential areas. This has led to an atmosphere of fear, significantly affecting daily life, including farming, children’s education, and general outdoor activities. People are reportedly afraid to leave their homes after dark, and livestock safety has become a major concern.
In his letter to the DFO, Councilor Bharti emphasized the urgent need for intervention, suggesting increased patrolling in the area, installation of cages, and if necessary, efforts to capture and relocate the wild animal. He warned that any delay could lead to a tragic incident, putting lives at risk.
“The safety of the people is my top priority, and I urge the forest department to take swift and effective measures to control the situation,” said Bharti. He also assured the local community that he will continue to raise this issue at higher levels until a concrete solution is implemented.
Residents of Bhyrakhola have expressed relief and hope following the councilor’s action, stating that it was a much-needed step toward restoring normalcy in their lives.
