Almora– The “Tiranga Shaurya Samman Yatra” was carried out today with great patriotic enthusiasm and public participation in Almora. The yatra aimed to honor the sacrifices of India’s martyrs and brave soldiers, inspire patriotism among the youth, and spread the message of unity and national pride.
The yatra commenced from the historic Sidhhi Naula, where citizens paid floral tributes to the nation’s fallen heroes, waving the national flag. School children, youth, senior citizens, and members of various social organizations joined the rally in large numbers, raising powerful slogans like “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram” that echoed through the streets. The event was a vibrant celebration of valor and a call for renewed national devotion among the younger generation.
Union Minister of State Ajay Tamta, who participated in the yatra, addressed the crowd and referenced the military response following the Pahalgam terror attack, where 26 innocent tourists lost their lives. He highlighted how the Indian Army launched a decisive operation targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan and PoK, killing over 100 terrorists and forcing Pakistan to seek a ceasefire. “This yatra is a tribute to our military’s success and a strong statement of our zero-tolerance policy against terrorism,” he said.
District President Mahesh Nayal emphasized that the yatra was a powerful means to communicate the sacrifices and valor of the Indian Armed Forces to every citizen. He stated, “The yatra has reached the hearts of the people, especially the youth, inspiring them to honor the tricolor and serve the nation.”
Municipal President Vineet Bisht noted that the Tiranga Shaurya Samman Yatra was more than a political event—it was a reflection of the people’s emotions regarding national security and unity. He asserted that the event displayed India’s military strength and determination in the fight against terrorism while igniting a deep sense of patriotism among the masses.
The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries and public figures, including Union Minister of State Ajay Tamta, District President Mahesh Nayal, Mayor Ajay Verma, State Minister Ganga Bisht, Dairy Chairman Girish Kholiya, Municipal President Vineet Bisht, State Executive Member Ravi Rautela, former District Cooperative Bank President Lalit Latwal, District General Secretary Dharmendra Bisht, and Mandal Presidents Navin Bisht, Sanjay Bisht, Mangal Singh, and Ganesh Jalal.
Also in attendance were former State Ministers Govind Pilkhwal, Bittu Karnatak, and Sikandar Pawar; former District President Ramesh Bahuguna; Red Cross Society President Ashish Verma; former Red Cross President Manoj Sanwal; and many notable social workers and local representatives including Arjun Bisht, Harish Kanwal, Amit Sah Monu, Prakash Bhatt, Anand Singh Bisht, Vinod Giri Goswami, and many others.
