The Women Patanjali Yoga Committee, Tehsil Almora, under the leadership of Tehsil In-charge Manju Joshi, organized a one-day Arogya Sabha. A large number of women participated enthusiastically in the program.
The session began with the lighting of the lamp, the divine sound of Om, and the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra. This was followed by a detailed discussion on the importance of yoga, meditation, and pranayama. Tehsil In-charge Mrs. Manju Joshi said that yoga is the simplest way to live a healthy, balanced, and disciplined life. She urged the women not to confine yoga to themselves but to spread it to every household and contribute to building a healthy society.
The session highlighted how yoga and pranayama are highly effective in curing various ailments:
High Blood Pressure: Anulom-Vilom, Bhramari, and Sheetali Pranayama.
Diabetes: Kapalbhati, Mandukasana, along with the use of Giloy and Fenugreek.
Stress and Insomnia: Meditation, Yoga Nidra, and Shavasana.
Hormonal Imbalance: Surya Namaskar, Bhujangasana, and Pranayama.
Back and Joint Pain: Makarasana, Pawanmuktasana, and gentle massage with mustard oil.
The importance of home remedies and adopting a natural lifestyle was also emphasized. Plans for upcoming yoga camps, awareness meetings, and activities were discussed, with stress on active participation by every committee member.
During the event, participants were guided through pranayama and yoga practice, which gave them a positive experience of health and energy. Many women shared personal experiences, mentioning physical, mental, and spiritual benefits from regular yoga practice. One participant said yoga improved her sleep and reduced stress, another shared relief from respiratory problems, while another expressed that yoga had given her confidence and positive thinking.
Concluding the event, Tehsil In-charge Mrs. Manju Joshi expressed gratitude to all women and said that women’s strength is the most powerful medium for spreading yoga, and through collective efforts, Patanjali’s message will reach more people.
