Officials from Jal Nigam and Jal Sansthan Assure Prompt Resolution
Almora.
A significant ground inspection was conducted in the village of Shailegaon on Wednesday to ensure effective implementation of the ambitious “Har Ghar Jal, Har Ghar Nal” (Water for Every Home, Tap in Every Home) scheme. The inspection was led by village panchayat member Kapil Malhotra, accompanied by officials from Jal Nigam and Jal Sansthan.
It is noteworthy that nearly one and a half years ago, under this flagship initiative, tap water connections were installed in most homes in the village. However, due to administrative and technical reasons, regular water supply could not be ensured, causing severe inconvenience to the villagers.
Taking the matter seriously, Kapil Malhotra had initiated correspondence with the concerned departments several times in the past few months, requesting a resolution. Responding to the same, the departments decided to conduct a joint inspection, which was implemented on the ground today.
During the inspection, the officials took feedback from the villagers and attempted to identify the technical issues hindering water supply. They assured that the problems would be addressed promptly.
Among those present were Junior Engineer Jaya Joshi from Jal Nigam, Assistant Engineer Virendra Mehta, Junior Engineer Umang Sharma from Jal Sansthan, lineman Pradeep Vishwa, and other technical staff. The officials stated that technical glitches would be rectified in the coming days and regular water supply would soon be restored.
Panchayat member Kapil Malhotra emphasized, “This scheme is a part of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s mission to provide water to every household. Every citizen of the village deserves its benefits. Until regular water supply is ensured, the mission remains incomplete. I will continue to work in public interest until a permanent solution is achieved.”
Local residents appreciated this joint initiative and expressed hope that the issue would now be resolved soon. Post-inspection, the officials assured the panchayat representatives that all necessary technical tasks would be completed within a week.
This joint effort stands as a fine example of reviewing government schemes and reflects how effective coordination between public representatives and departmental officials can lead to prompt solutions for public issues.
