The swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected District Panchayat Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, and members was held with great enthusiasm and dignity at the District Panchayat office on Friday. The event was presided over by State Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya, who attended as the chief guest. The ceremony witnessed the presence of several public representatives, officials, and distinguished citizens from across the district.
During the ceremony, District Magistrate Alok Pandey administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly elected District Panchayat Chairperson Hema Gaida. Subsequently, Chairperson Gaida administered the oath to the Vice-Chairperson and all newly elected members. The hall echoed with applause as the representatives took their oaths, and they were warmly welcomed with garlands and greetings by the gathering.
On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya congratulated all the newly elected office bearers and said that from today, their legal and constitutional responsibilities begin, which must be fulfilled with honesty and dedication. She emphasized that the Panchayati Raj system is the strongest pillar of democracy, and living up to the people’s expectations is the true test of public representatives. Expressing confidence, she said that the newly elected team would work collectively to open new avenues of development in the district.
Newly elected Chairperson Hema Gaida expressed her gratitude and assured that all members would work together for the overall development of the district. She said that priority would be given to addressing the basic problems of the region, and no compromise would be made in matters of public welfare. Transparency, accountability, and speed in development work would be her guiding principles.
