
DhaulaChina. A meeting of the Ramleela Committee was held at the BRC auditorium in DhaulaChina, where Chandan Singh Mehra was unanimously re-elected as president. The participants praised the achievements of the previous year’s executive body and decided to retain the same committee for this year as well.
To fill the vacant position of treasurer, Mohan Singh Jeena was elected. Additionally, Chandan Singh, Diwan Singh Bisht, Diwan Mehta, and Manmohan Singh were entrusted with the additional responsibility of vice presidents. The meeting was presided over by senior patron of the committee, Jaman Singh Mehra.
The proceedings began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Speakers emphasized the need to organize this year’s historic Kumaoni Ramleela with greater grandeur. It was decided that the training sessions would commence from September 17, while the main Ramleela performances would begin from October 30, after Diwali.
Among those who presented their views and suggestions were Chandra Singh Mehra, Mohan Singh Jeena, Diwan Singh Rana, Anand Singh Rawat, Khadak Singh Mehra, Darwan Singh Rawat, Narayan Singh, and Bharat Joshi.
