Salam. On the occasion of Salam Martyrs’ Day, BJP state spokesperson Gaurav Pandey paid tribute to the brave martyrs and said that freedom fighters Narsingh Dhanak and Tika Singh Kanyal will always be remembered for their supreme sacrifice for the nation’s independence. He emphasized that there should be no politics on the stage of martyrs; instead, everyone should work together to move forward on the path of development.
Pandey recalled that the brave revolutionaries of Salam had fought the British cannons with mere stones — a heroic act that became a golden chapter in India’s freedom struggle. On 25 August 1942, Narsingh Dhanak and Tika Singh Kanyal laid down their lives for the country’s independence.
He also remembered the contributions of Ram Singh Dhauni and Durga Datt Shastri, noting that their tireless efforts paved the way for the Salam Revolution. Pandey praised the deep respect and devotion of the people of Salam towards their martyrs and urged the youth to draw inspiration of patriotism and sacrifice from their lives.
The BJP spokesperson further informed that with the support of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, important steps have been taken to preserve the legacy of the Salam Revolution. A documentary film has been produced so that the younger generation becomes familiar with this glorious history. Alongside this, grand statues of Martyrs Narsingh Dhanak and Tika Singh Kanyal have been installed to immortalize their memory.
He added that under the Chief Minister’s leadership, development works in the region are also progressing rapidly. Pandey concluded by saying, “The contribution of Salam’s revolutionaries in India’s freedom struggle will always remain immortal.”
