
Almora. Under the Health Service Fortnight program, a one-day health camp was organized on Saturday in Gram Sabha Shail Gooth. In this camp, the health department team provided essential medical services to villagers, including BP, sugar, and various other health check-ups.
Dr. Divyanshika Kanwal conducted health examinations and offered necessary medical advice to the participants. ASHA Facilitator Shyama Rawat and CHO Bharti Bisht guided the villagers with vital health-related information, emphasizing the importance of regular check-ups. ANM Hawalbagh’s Sheeter Coordinator Neema Deenia (TISS) and ASHA worker Babita Tiwari also played an active role in the program.
On this occasion, Beena Joshi highlighted that the objective of the Health Service Fortnight is to spread awareness about health among rural communities and to encourage the habit of routine check-ups. Under the Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) program, tests for diabetes, hypertension, and other chronic conditions were conducted. A large number of villagers actively participated in the health camp and availed themselves of medical consultation.
Gram Panchayat member and journalist Kapil Malhotra was also present at the camp. He said that such initiatives are highly beneficial as they provide doorstep health facilities for villagers and help them become more conscious about their health. He appreciated the health department’s efforts and noted that the local people participated enthusiastically in the camp.
During the event, the health team advised villagers to maintain a balanced diet, proper hygiene, regular exercise, and avoid addictions. They also shared information about various government health schemes so that people could benefit from them.
Villagers appreciated the camp, calling it highly useful, and suggested that such initiatives should be organized regularly. They said that such camps not only help in early diagnosis of diseases but also make treatment easier.
