
Discussion Held on Issues of Gram Sabha Shail Guth and the Town
Almora. Journalist and Gram Panchayat member Kapil Malhotra held a courtesy meeting with Union Minister of State and Member of Parliament Ajay Tamta on Friday regarding the basic problems of Gram Sabha Shail Guth and the adjoining town areas. During the meeting, he presented several key issues concerning both the village and the town in detail. The Union Minister listened carefully to all the concerns and assured full support in resolving them.
The meeting was also attended by Almora Municipal Corporation Mayor Ajay Verma and Minister of State Ganga Bisht. On the occasion, Kapil Malhotra highlighted that the poor condition of the municipal road adjoining the boundaries of Gram Sabha Shail Guth has been causing trouble for the villagers for a long time. Due to the damaged road, not only is commuting difficult, but local economic and social activities are also being badly affected.
Mayor Ajay Verma assured that the Municipal Corporation will find a permanent solution to this problem. He said that the road adjoining the Gram Sabha boundary will be repaired soon to provide relief to the public.
Women-Related Issues Also Raised
During the meeting, several issues related to women in the Gram Sabha were also discussed. Kapil Malhotra emphasized the need to implement women empowerment and employment-oriented schemes at the village level. Responding to this, Minister of State Ganga Bisht said that women’s development is among the top priorities of the government. She assured that in Gram Sabha Shail Guth, special livelihood and self-employment programs for women will be implemented on the ground.
Ganga Bisht further said that all important schemes of the state government will be extended to the villages so that rural women can become self-reliant. Appreciating the issues raised by Kapil Malhotra, she added that when journalists and public representatives bring forward local problems, it has a positive impact on government work.

Other Gram Sabha Issues Raised
On this occasion, Kapil Malhotra also highlighted the shortage of drinking water, road repairs, the condition of education and healthcare services, and sanitation challenges before the Union Minister. He said that the people of the Gram Sabha have long been struggling due to the lack of these basic facilities and that immediate administrative intervention is needed.
Union Minister Ajay Tamta said that balanced development of both rural and urban areas is his priority. He assured that the problems of Shail Guth as well as the entire district would be resolved with the joint efforts of the central and state governments. Tamta also appealed to local representatives and the public for their cooperation.
Public Receives New Hope
After the meeting, the people of the Gram Sabha and town expressed hope that their long-pending issues would now be addressed through concrete action. Locals praised the efforts of journalist Kapil Malhotra, saying that he has done commendable work by raising the problems of common people at the right platform.
The meeting concluded with a spirit of dialogue and a shared commitment toward development. All the public representatives affirmed that the issues of Gram Sabha Shail Guth and the town will be resolved on a priority basis.
