Prompt Action Taken on Initiative of Councilor Vandana Verma
Almora. A dead bull was found lying in Gangola Mohalla Selakhola Ward on Thursday morning. As soon as the information was received, Ward Councilor Vandana Verma promptly informed the Municipal Corporation authorities. Following her alert, the Municipal Corporation team immediately reached the spot.
Local residents informed that the carcass lying in the narrow lane had completely blocked the passage, causing inconvenience to the public. Removing the bull from the congested lane was a major challenge for the Municipal Corporation team. With the support of Basant Ballabh Pandey and his team, the carcass was finally removed after hours of effort and taken to the market area for disposal.
During this time, residents appreciated the swift response of the Municipal Corporation as well as the efforts of Councilor Vandana Verma. However, locals also pointed out that such incidents may lead to unhygienic conditions and health risks in the ward, and therefore regular cleaning and monitoring is essential.
Councilor Vandana Verma said:
“As soon as I was informed about a dead bull lying in our ward, I immediately notified the Municipal Corporation. Due to the narrow lane, it was very difficult to remove the carcass, but with the support of the Municipal Corporation team and Basant Ballabh Pandey, the task was completed. I thank the Corporation for their cooperation and also appeal for regular cleaning and monitoring, as such incidents can spread dirt and diseases. The safety and cleanliness of my ward residents is my top priority.”
Municipal Corporation officials assured that in future, quick action will be taken in all wards for the disposal of dead animals so that no health-related issues may arise.
