Youth Smuggling Smack on Sports Bike Arrested by SOG and Someshwar Police

Acting on the strict directives of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Devendra Pincha, the Almora police have intensified their campaign against drug trafficking in the district under the “Zero Tolerance Against Drugs” policy. In a major breakthrough on July 1, 2025, a joint team of the Special Operations Group (SOG) and Someshwar Police arrested a youth smuggling smack (heroin) from the Kosi area.
Smuggling via KTM Sports Bike
During a routine check near Ranikhet Tiraaha, Kosi, the police intercepted a KTM sports bike (registration number UK01C-1424). Upon search, the rider, Ravindra Bisht, son of Narayan Singh and resident of Syuna Jyoli village (Almora), was found in possession of 10.78 grams of illegal smack (heroin). The seized contraband is estimated to be worth ₹3,23,400 in the black market.
The accused has been booked under FIR No. 19/2025 at Someshwar Police Station under Sections 8/21/60 of the NDPS Act. The bike used in the smuggling operation has also been seized.
