
Audience Mesmerized by Bharatanatyam, Krishna Leela, and Yoga Performances
Almora. As part of the historic Nanda Devi Fair, a grand cultural evening was organized on Sunday at the Nanda Devi temple premises by Disha Academy, Almora. The program began with devotional chants in honor of Maa Nanda-Sunanda, followed by a series of captivating performances that kept the audience spellbound.
The cultural sequence commenced with a graceful Bharatanatyam dance, followed by the classical presentation “Mohan Khelat Holi”, which showcased the essence of Indian tradition. A soulful Qawwali filled the atmosphere with a Sufi touch, while the enactment of Krishna Leela drenched the audience in devotional fervor. National Yoga Artist Navik and Rudranshi impressed the crowd with their extraordinary yoga artistry. In addition, Disha Academy’s traditional Pahadi dance and the Radha-Krishna tableau highlighted the region’s cultural heritage. The celebration of Phoolon ki Holi (Flower Holi) added a festive and joyful charm to the evening.
The event was directed by Rajendra Tiwari, Shagun Tyagi, and Harshita Tiwari. A soulful musical performance by the Jivika Music Group was presented by Poonam Pathak. Later, the Star Night featuring Diwan Kanwal, Ajay Dhoundiyal, and Manoj Arya enthralled the crowd with their melodious singing, keeping the audience entertained late into the night.
The program was graced by BJP District President Mahesh Nayal as the Chief Guest, while former State Minister Bittu Karnataka, Block Panchayat Member Roshan Kumar, and Kailash Gururani attended as Special Guests. The dignitaries appreciated the efforts of the academy and organizing committee, stating that the Nanda Devi Fair is a symbol of faith and culture, and such events play a vital role in connecting the younger generation with their roots.
