
Almora. Keeping in view the Dussehra celebrations, the Almora market will remain open on October 2. This decision was taken in a joint meeting of the city and district units of the Almora Traders’ Association.
The Dussehra festival of Almora is famous across India. Every year, thousands of tourists from different parts of the country visit the town to witness the historic Ramlila performances and the grand Ravan Dahan. Considering the heavy footfall and festive atmosphere, the traders’ body decided to keep the markets open on this day so that both tourists and local residents do not face any inconvenience.
District President of the Traders’ Association, Sushil Sah, and City President, Ajay Verma, extended warm greetings to all traders and citizens on the occasion of Dussehra and Navratri. They also appealed to the public to visit the markets during the upcoming Diwali festival and contribute to enhancing the festive charm.
The officials added that such festive occasions not only boost business activities but also strengthen the local economy.
