
Dehradun. The Uttarakhand State Badminton Association organized a felicitation ceremony on Wednesday at Hotel Inderlok, Dehradun, under the chairmanship of Association President Dr. Alaknanda Ashok. On this occasion, the players selected for the upcoming BWF World Senior Veteran Championships 2025 were honoured. The championship will be held in Pattaya, Thailand, from 7 to 14 September 2025.

Association Secretary B. S. Mankoti informed that all the selected players have been chosen in different age categories, and each one of them is above 65 years of age. He added that their zeal and energy are truly inspirational for the younger generation. He also recalled that in the past, S. K. Patet and S. S. Pundir had brought laurels to the state by winning medals in the World Veteran Championships.
Extending her best wishes, Dr. Alaknanda Ashok said that this achievement is the outcome of the players’ hard work, dedication, and discipline. She expressed confidence that the team will make Uttarakhand and India proud on the international stage.
Other office bearers of the association, coaches, and sports enthusiasts also extended their blessings and encouragement to the players. The event was attended by Rakesh Dobhal, Harish Joshi, Rakesh Negi, Madhav Joshi, and several others.
