Almora.
Municipal Councilor of Almora, Amit Sah ‘Monu’, met with the Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD), Harshit Gupta, on Monday to discuss various ongoing and pending development projects in the city. During the meeting, he emphasized the need to expedite infrastructure works and address the issues being faced by local residents.
One of the main concerns raised by Councilor Sah was the deteriorated culvert near Aroma Automobiles. He pointed out that the structure has been in poor condition for years, and with the onset of the monsoon, there is a high risk of further damage. This, he noted, poses a serious threat to pedestrians and vehicles using the route daily.
In response, Executive Engineer Harshit Gupta assured that the repair and reconstruction of the culvert have already been included in the district plan. He further stated that the matter has been prioritized, and the execution of the work will begin in the coming days.
The meeting also covered discussions on the maintenance of key roads, the city’s drainage system, and traffic management strategies. Councilor Sah urged the department to ensure effective water drainage measures across the city to prevent waterlogging during the rainy season.
He reiterated his commitment to raising public issues with the administration and relevant departments to ensure the delivery of basic facilities to the people. He stated that as a public representative, he would continue to work diligently to address the concerns of his constituents.
Executive Engineer Gupta concluded by assuring that all development works will be undertaken in coordination with the Municipal Corporation to enhance the city’s infrastructure and make Almora smarter and more livable.
