In a bid to encourage academic excellence and uplift student morale, former State Minister and senior BJP leader Bittu Karnatak continues to organize recognition events across Uttarakhand. On Tuesday, Karnatak honored meritorious students of the Higher Secondary School Talad (Almora) who excelled in board examinations and other competitive tests.
The event began with a vibrant cultural performance presented by the students. Following this, Karnatak felicitated the achievers with medals, mementos, and traditional shawls. Addressing the gathering, he said, “Students must set clear goals and work diligently to achieve academic excellence, thereby making their parents and teachers proud.”
He emphasized that while students’ hard work is crucial to success, the guidance and support of their teachers also play a vital role. Karnatak also highlighted the importance of instilling values such as discipline, patriotism, responsibility, and awareness of rights among students alongside academics.
In his inspiring message, Karnatak urged students to stay away from substance abuse and instead embrace physical fitness, sports, and healthy recreation as part of their daily lives. “A healthy body and mind are essential for becoming role models in society,” he remarked.
School Principal Udayraj Vikram Sah expressed gratitude towards Karnatak and described the ceremony as highly motivational. “Such events serve as milestones in the field of education and greatly inspire young minds,” he noted.
The program was attended by several dignitaries including ex-serviceman Hayat Singh Bisht, Ramesh Chandra Joshi, Devendra Karnatak, Prakash Mehta, Nikhil Tiwari, Asha Mehta, and school faculty members Bhopal Prasad Kohli, Khushal Singh Mehar, Hema Bisht, Nayantara, and Janaki Bisht. Many parents were also present.
The event was anchored effectively by teacher Rashmi Kandpal.
