Almora: Political activities have intensified ahead of the Hawalbag Block Chief elections. On Saturday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) officially declared Himani Kundu as its candidate for the post of Block Chief. Following the announcement, party leaders and workers celebrated with great enthusiasm, organizing a welcome and sweets distribution program in the town.
BJP State Vice President Kailash Sharma, former MLA Raghunath Singh Chauhan, former State Minister Bittu Karnataka, senior leader Ravi Rautela, along with many prominent leaders, were present on stage. They congratulated Himani Kundu on being chosen as the official party candidate and expressed confidence that under her leadership, Hawalbag Block would witness a new era of development.
Speaking on the occasion, former MLAR Sharma said that BJP always works with the spirit of organization and service. By nominating Himani Kundu, the party has brought forward a young and dynamic face who will meet the expectations of the people. Former State Minister Bittu Karnataka said this election is not just for a position but will decide the developmental path of the Hawalbag region.

The selection of Himani Kundu will strengthen the organization and ensure that public welfare schemes reach the last person in the block. He urged workers to unite and actively participate in the election campaign to ensure a resounding victory for the party.
In her address, Himani Kundu expressed gratitude to the party for showing trust in her and pledged to fulfill her responsibilities with honesty and dedication. She stated that her vision is to make Hawalbag a model block in education, healthcare, roads, and employment. She also emphasized that women’s empowerment and youth employment generation will be among her top priorities.
