As per the directions of BJP District President Mahesh Nyal, the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna, India’s first Home Minister and renowned freedom fighter Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant was celebrated with great reverence and enthusiasm across all mandals of the district.
The main program was organized at Khunt, the birthplace of Pandit Pant Ji. On this occasion, Union Minister of State and Member of Parliament Ajay Tamta, former Deputy Speaker of the Assembly Raghunath Singh Chauhan, former MLA Kailash Sharma, former District President Ravi Rautela, Ramesh Bahuguna, Lalit Latwal, Govind Pilkhwal, former State Minister Bittu Karnataka, former Yuva Morcha President Kundan Latwal, Nagar President Vineet Bisht, District Minister Manoj Joshi, Vice President Narendra Agri, District Treasurer Prakash Bisht, Mandal President Naveen Bisht, along with many party workers and dignitaries, paid floral tributes at Pant Ji’s statue and participated in the ceremony.
District President Mahesh Nyal said—
“Born on the sacred land of Kumaon, Pandit Pant Ji connected the common people with the freedom movement and worked tirelessly to awaken national consciousness. Today, it is our duty to imbibe his ideals and contribute to nation-building.”
On the occasion, Union Minister Ajay Tamta said—
“Pandit Pant Ji not only played a leading role in the freedom struggle but also deeply influenced the policies and direction of independent India. His simplicity, dedication to public service, and faith in democratic values will continue to guide future generations. His life teaches us that the true purpose of politics is not power, but service to society.”

Town Program, Almora
In Almora, a Prabhat Pheri (morning procession) was taken out from Nanda Devi Temple to Govind Ballabh Pant Park with the participation of a large number of townspeople, social organizations, and school students.
After the procession, a grand ceremony was organized at Pant Park. Present on the occasion were Mayor Ajay Verma, former Deputy Speaker Raghunath Singh Chauhan, former MLA Kailash Sharma, Vice President Poonam Paliwal, Sandeep Srivastava, District Media In-charge Manish Kumar Joshi (Mantu), social worker Manoj Sanwal, Trilochan Joshi, Sunil Karnataka, and several other public representatives.
School children presented colorful cultural performances highlighting Pant Ji’s personality and contribution. A special message from the Hon’ble Chief Minister was also read out, in which he paid tribute to Pandit Pant Ji and said—
“His ideals, sacrifice, and spirit of national service are an eternal source of inspiration for all of us.”
The district administration and social organizations actively participated in the program. The entire event was marked by an atmosphere of devotion, enthusiasm, and dignity.
In the end, floral tributes were offered to Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant Ji’s statues across all mandals of the district by BJP workers and the public.
